  • Low-Church:
    • Highest value = believing & obeying the written word of God.
    • Church sacraments and traditions take a backseat to the preaching of God's word.
    • Emphasize personal salvation & walk with the Lord.
    • Examples: Baptist, Nondenominational, Independent etc.
  • High-Church:
    • Draws from the longstanding Church traditions to varying degrees such as:
      • Liturgical, Sacramental, Contemplative, Evangelical etc.
    • High-view of the Sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, Ordination, etc.)
    • Examples: Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, etc.
  • Convergent Movements:
    • Christian Movements that attempt to find a middle ground or balance of multiple streams of christian expression:
    • Examples:
      • Vineyard: Evangelical + Charismatic (radical middle)
      • Anglican: Reformed Catholic + Protestant (via media)
      • Methodist: Anglican + Wesleyan/Holiness
